Parents’ Committee

Parents’ Committee
Here at Dormston we really value our parent’s opinions. In addition to our formal Governing Body committees, we also hold regular Parent Committee meetings.

In 2019, as part of our commitment to Parental Communication & Engagement, we reviewed and re-established our Parents’ Committee Membership. As a result, we are really pleased to say we now currently have an active Parents Committee of over 30 parents.

Parents’ Committee is an opportunity for Parents/Carers to ask questions, share their views, raise concerns and make suggestions. At these Committees, Parents/Carers get the opportunity to meet with the Head Teacher and other relevant school staff. We also use our Parents Committee as a sounding board in-between these meetings if/when we are making changes in what and how we communicate with our parents. Their advice is greatly valued and we are very lucky to have such committed and supportive parents/carers.
The meetings for 2019/2020 academic year are:
  • Monday 23 September 2019 at 6.00pm – Conference Room
  • Monday 20 January 2020 at 6.00pm – Conference Room
  • Monday 18 May 2020 at 6.00pm – Conference Room

If you are interested in joining our Parents’ Committee please contact Mrs Otton on 01384 816395 for further information. If you are considering joining but are not sure you can always contact Mrs Otton in the first instance and she will arrange for one of our current members to give you a call back to explain a bit more about what is actually involved.

If you would like to see an item raised at Parents’ Committee but are not a member please contact Mrs Otton who will liaise with Parents’ Committee on your behalf to ensure your concern is raised, discussed and responded to.
